Figma enables prototyping with real code and opens code layers in public beta
Its AI agent is now available to everyone and consumes credits.

Code layers allow building prototypes backed by real code. They are created with a prompt, by importing GitHub, or with a third-party agent via MCP, which adds more than 20 tools, including Open Code, Dia, and Sarvam.
Figma also introduced Specs, a Markdown editor for teams and agents, with no release date. It claims that 17 times more code is produced today, but launches have only grown 1.3 times. The figures are from Figma.
